School field trip to same-sex wedding is just the beginning

This is why we are fighting for Prop 8. To protect our children from taking field trips to same-sex marriages. The first graders were told it was about love -- please. Marriage is about children, which this couple cannot have unless they go visit a sperm bank. Will that be the next field trip?

Can I tell you that as the mother of a 3rd grader, this is NOT okay with me. I'm having a hard enough time when my son comes home and tells me that all of the polar bears are going to die because all the glaciers are melting. I cannot begin to imagine the discussions we would be having regarding same-sex marriage.

And it's not because I don't want to teach him. I already am teaching him about families. However, at the elementary school age, the teacher is always right. Moral issues need to be taught in the home, not at school.

Thank you for your blog. Keep up the good work!

I was also outraged. It's just not the type of thing we should discuss in public school settings. As a school teacher, I know how much these young children trust and believe anything their teacher says. I could tell them the moon was made of cheese, I'm Dora the Explorer's best friend, and the Principal is from the planet Mars. They would believe me, every last one of them, because that's what little kids do!

That's why in school, there are some things we as teachers just don't discuss. This is one of them!

When I heard about this, it became alarmingly clear that there is more at stake than marriage, as crucial as that is to our nation & families. Voting YES! on Prop. 8 is a vote for true FREEDOM for all people.

Same-sex mar-riage proponents already lied to us about not affecting children& school. I'm afraid of what they will do next if prop. 8 fails.

We're proud to stand with you and vote YES! on prop. 8

Thank you for your great work!

I think it is outrageous that the opposition claims that same sex marriage will have no effect on our society. I read a sign recently in a news article that read, “How does my same sex marriage harm yours?” What is the harm to our children, to our rights, to our freedoms? What is the harm to our nation, our families, if same sex marriage as a currently defined “civil right” continues to move forward? The gay marriage lobby contends that it won’t hurt, won’t harm, won’t change anything for the majority of society, but the evidence is mounting, demonstrating that not only will things change, but they will change in a major way. In the Washington March for Gay Pride in 1993, they chanted, “We’re here. We’re queer. And we’re coming after your children.” Is that just some fringe quote? Or is it indicative of a widely held innate desire to be accepted by society at all costs?

If we don’t start fighting back, changes will come like dominoes across the nation. Massachusetts, California, Connecticut….if we’re going to stand up, now is the time. Marriage is the fundamental building block of our society, changes to it’s definition will create ripples of change reaching every corner of our lives over time. This is not a small issue.

Thanks for your post, keep up the good work, spread the message!
